Medigent

Medigent® is a world-class suite of healthcare software modules that help manage public sector health insurance programs. By expanding benefits administration capacity, enhancing decision-making capabilities and improving communications, healthcare providers can focus on delivering services – not administering them.

Medigent offers fully integrated healthcare modules that can be used independently, or in combination, to offer advanced electronic healthcare solutions:

  • Beneficiary Enrolment Module

Automated and streamlined business processes for managing the beneficiary intake and eligibility renewal processes of a jurisdiction’s health insurance programs.

  • Benefits/Program Management Module

Efficient daily business processes to manage and adjudicate provider claims from essential healthcare programs:

  • Pharmacy
  • Medical
  • Dental
  • Medical Travel
  • Drug Information System Module

A central repository of all prescriptions and associated dispenses within a jurisdiction, designed to help healthcare professionals avoid dangerous drug interactions and duplications of therapy.

  • Vital Events Management Module

Tools to manage the day-to-day activities of a jurisdiction's vital statistics program.

Medigent’s healthcare modules are supported by a powerful set of underlying capabilities that help to direct, standardize, and automate the various business processes required to operate and maintain health insurance programs.

  • Workflow Automation

A framework of configurable tools that optimize work processes through the systematic adjudication of work requests, the routing of work items to appropriate work queues, and the production of notices and correspondence based on pre-defined templates.

  • Tailored User Interface

The primary user interface utilizes a business process-oriented forms approach to execute routine tasks. Reference versions of forms are provided out-of-the-box with each Medigent module, and implementation projects may further tailor form definitions, layouts, and client-side processing logic to help expedite or fully automate labour-intensive processes.

  • Gateway Services

This communications service bus facilitates real-time, standards-based interactions between the external point-of-service applications used by the provider community and Medigent. Gateway service modules are available for a variety of communications protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, X.12, X.25, VISA-II) and messaging standards (e.g., CeRx, NeCST, CPhA3, NCPDP, CDAnet).

  • Integration Framework

An interface standard and application programming interface (API) that substantially reduces the need for product customizations when integrating with other solutions within an existing enterprise.
